Data Centers

Data Centers are consuming more and more power these days.  Energy costs are skyrocketing and it is putting a strain on the United States Electrical Grid.  One of the things companies are not thinking about is the building envelope or building it, i.e. the walls and the roof design.  What is needed is an energy efficient building envelope.  To obtain this is easy.  The use of Insulated Concrete Forms will provide all of the necessary things a company is looking for in a building.

Thermal Mass:

No Air-infiltration: Transfer of outside heat

50-80% energy efficient: A conventional constructed R22 wall verses a R22 wall with Thermal Mass and Less / No air-infiltration.

Structural Integrity: Siesmic designs are required for different areas of the country; h

Maintenance free

Data Centers & 911 Centers

This is a new and emerging area for architects and design specialists.  Data centers, as we see them, are enclosed in concrete walls with a concrete roof and are safe from all possible forms of destruction i.e. fire, tornadoes, war and any other form of disaster that would impede the use of the center.  The moisture and temperature levels must be constantly monitored inside to protect the electronic equipment.  ICFs make the most logical choice because they can perform the duties necessary at a minimum of cost.
